đź•“ Time: 2 PM – 4:30 PM

📍 Place: Nichols Library, 200 W. Jefferson St. Naperville

For students preparing for the start of college interview season or getting a head start, Chinese American Women in Action’s Youth Program (“CAWA Youth“) is sponsoring the second part of our high school skill building series on authentic and meaningful storytelling–this time focused on oral storytelling skills for college admissions interviews. But really, these conversation skills will serve students well now and throughout their careers.

  • We started this series because many high school students—especially immigrants or children of immigrants—are navigating the U.S. college application process for the very first time, often without a roadmap. However, this workshop is relevant to anyone who plans to interview, especially seniors who are in the application process now or other high school students who want to get a head start.
  • This workshop exists to demystify some of the process, reduce stress, and help students feel confident in getting organized and how to tell their unique stories to make lasting impressions during interviews.
  • CAWA Youth is creating a safe, welcoming space where students can learn from an expert college admissions coach Dr. Laura Perretta of Advanced Ivy Prep on what really matters when interviewing, ask honest questions, and collaborate with peers to begin developing and practicing talking points for upcoming interviews.
  • NOTE: Due to the popularity of parents’ interest in our last session, parents of registered and attending students are invited to join at 4:00 p.m. to hear a recap of focus areas and available resources.
  • This is not a lecture or test-prep class—it’s an interactive experience with an Ivy League-educated coach and insider who has counseled hundreds of students on how the top colleges think.
  • Students will work in small groups to begin shaping their own personal talking points—learning how to reflect passions, interests, and experiences in a way that feels authentic and compelling.
  • The workshop builds interviewing and conversational skills that will serve students well in life.
  • Attending the first part of our series held in April 2026 is not a prerequisite. All are welcome.

Admission is FREE but limited seats are available on a first-come-first-serve basis until we reach maximum capacity.

Light refreshments will be provided.
