Nancy Chen
Founding President
Nancy Chen’s career reflects a rich history of public and community service. She retired as Regional Administrator of the Women’s Bureau at the U.S. Department of Labor. Previously, she served as Director of U.S. Senator Paul Simon’s Chicago Office for six years and as Director of Asian-Pacific American Outreach at President Clinton’s White House Office of Presidential Personnel. Nancy was recently appointed by the President of the DuPage County Board to the DuPage County Ethics Commission and is also a member of the Paul Simon Public Policy Institute Board of Counselors.
Lai So
Treasurer
Lai So has over 25 years of experience in the IT industry, leading and developing telecommunications products and services for U.S. and global customers. She is currently working on 5G technology deployment in major U.S. cities. Lai earned her B.A. in Mathematics and Computer Science from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and her M.S. in Computer Science from the Illinois Institute of Technology. She is a Commissioner on the Special Events & Community Arts Commission (SECA), appointed by the Mayor of Naperville City.
Tracy P. Leung, PsyD
Board Member
Dr. Tracy Leung is a bilingual, bicultural clinical psychologist serving the Asian American community through mental health care, outreach, and education. She has worked in community mental health, hospital, university, vocational rehabilitation, and correctional settings. Dr. Leung specializes in anxiety, depression, trauma, loss, relationship challenges, intergenerational conflict, and immigration-related stress. She works to destigmatize mental health and empowers individuals and families to build stronger, healthier futures.
Cheing-Mei Suen
Secretary
For 35 years, Cheing-Mei Suen worked as a Research and Development department head at a telecommunications company, managing multi-million-dollar global programs. Her expatriate experiences in Poland and Finland while working in telecommunications fostered a strong passion for increasing multicultural awareness and sensitivity. Cheing-Mei serves on the Natural Resources Committee of the Naperville Environmental Sustainability Task Force (NEST).
Jennifer Chen
Board Member
Born and raised in Naperville, Jennifer Chen is the VP of Communication Solutions and Services at Alight Solutions and executive sponsor of Alight’s Asian Professional Network. Her commitment to civic responsibility began early in her career at the U.S. Department of Justice’s Civil Rights Division and United Way of Chicago and as a board member for Asian American advocacy organizations. As a mother and professional whose career benefited from hands-on college internships, Jennifer is passionate about helping local high schoolers build leadership skills sooner.
