Dr. Meijan Linda Yu appointed by Governor J.B. Pritzker to the Illinois Commission on Aging

Consistent with CAWA’s mission of encouraging Chinese American women to engage and lead at all levels of government, CAWA is proud to announce that another Naperville resident has received an important appointment from the Governor of Illinois. The Illinois Council on Aging is an advisory body working in cooperation with the Illinois Department on Aging to provide a comprehensive and
coordinated service system for Illinois’ aging population.

Dr. Yu is retired after working as a Senior Vice President for Asia-Pacific Fuel Tech and serving with Ecolab-Nalco Water as the Lab Manager. Since 2013, she has volunteered as a Senior Health Insurance Program (SHIP) coordinator with the United Chinese Americans-Illinois (UCA-IL) Site. In addition, she is the founder of OPUS (Orchestra Parents/Patrons’ United Support), an organization based in Naperville that creates chamber and orchestral music for students of all ages and backgrounds.
