Sofia Chang
CEO, Girl Scouts of the USA
Sofia Chang is the first Asian American CEO of Girl Scouts of the USA. In its 110-year history, Girl Scouts has encouraged girls to embrace their unique strengths and create their own opportunities. Chang is also the mother of a Girl Scout, a Lifetime Member, and a Juliette Gordon Low Society Member.
Prior to her position at Girl Scouts, Chang served as President of Distribution at HBO/Warner Media, where she led the successful transformation of several businesses and developed high-performing teams. Chang holds a B.A. in English from the University of Pennsylvania and continues to serve on the board of the University of Pennsylvania’s Professional Women’s Alliance, which provides young alumni with professional development and networking opportunities. Chang was born in Brazil to Chinese parents and came to the U.S. at the age of 10.
Chang has been an advocate for women and diversity throughout her career. She was the Executive Sponsor of HBO’s AAPI resource group and a member of HBO’s diversity council. As the new CEO of Girl Scouts, Chang stated on Instagram that she was “thrilled to work alongside the entire organization to help the Movement grow, become more inclusive, and positively impact the lives of all girls and young women.” Sofia Chang is a trailblazer for her leadership and business achievements and for her empowerment of girls through Girl Scouts USA.
